A Big Hello to all WOO Fans! 🥳🥳🥳 WOO!
I have another theory for why WOO is unusually quiet this weekend, and honestly, I think it might be the most believable one yet. Maybe someone is still counting all the Gym Bags. August has certainly not been short of rewards. The August Ascension Battle Pass includes Gym Bags, Jobber Packs, WOO and WOOBucks across its two reward tracks, while the Summer Meltdown events have added another 400 Gym Bags and 300 Jobber Packs to the month's prize pools. At some point, somebody has to keep track of all of that.
I have gotten some feedback that reminders are pretty useful when it comes to the regular events held in WOO. So here I am again with a quick reminder for any upcoming events.
The Battle Pass alone gives a player who completes both tracks a total of 128 Gym Bags and 85 Jobber Packs. Then you have the weekly event rewards being distributed on top of that. It would not surprise me if there is currently a very large spreadsheet somewhere with enough numbers in it to make even the most dedicated WOO fan's eyes glaze over.
Maybe that is what is happening this weekend. Instead of another event announcement, everyone is sitting around trying to figure out where all the rewards have gone.
The more I think about it, the more it actually makes sense. WOO has been experimenting with a lot of different systems recently, and August Ascension is particularly interesting because it is not simply another copy of the previous Battle Pass. The number of levels has increased to 75, the XP requirement per level has dropped to 800, the Premium Track is now 10,000 WOO, and there is a 15,200 XP buffer between the total XP available and what players actually need to reach Level 75.
Those are all things worth watching.
The same goes for the Premium Track. A fully completed Premium player gets 8,250 WOO back, along with all the Gym Bags, Jobber Packs and WOOBucks from both tracks. That means the economics of the system are not simply about how many people buy Premium. It is also about how many players actually stick around long enough to complete it.
Maybe WOO is watching all of that before deciding what comes next. As a fan, I would much rather believe that than assume a quiet weekend means there is nothing happening behind the scenes. One of the interesting things about WOO at the moment is that there are enough different systems running that player behaviour itself becomes interesting.
Are people completing their Daily Quests? Are they chasing the full 1,050 XP available each day? Are players relying more heavily on Weekly and Seasonal Quests? How many people are pushing all the way towards Level 75?
There are a lot of questions to answer. So perhaps the quiet weekend is simply spreadsheet weekend. The WOO team is sitting somewhere with a calculator, a stack of Gym Bags and an increasingly complicated Excel file, trying to figure out what all of us have been doing. And until they finish counting everything, maybe we should just let them get on with it.
TLDR: This is a reminder to all my readers (and WOO fans) that baring any last minute sudden surprise events, this weekend should be a relatively quiet one. 😜
Well, that's it for today. We will continue again tomorrow! 😁 WOO! 🎉
