In life, you don't stop trying...you don't give up, basically keep trying. That is what we say to ourselves and also tell others....the one I like the most is Do not go with the crowd, it could be misleading.
There are various life lessons that we are so sure of but when we are in that situation everything just disappears...you simply forget all of it. Honestly, I have no idea why it is like that...although sometimes I feel maybe at that moment it is just hard to be in control of our emotions that we do things we either regret or wish we had handled better.
That is why I like the idea of not acting rashly especially when you are angry....because at that moment you are not thinking straight. I remember having a friend come tell me about some things she said to someone when she was angry. Naturally, I told her it was wrong of her to say such but thinking about it if I was the one, I would also want to say things that would hurt that person because at that moment nothing else matters. Or one time a friend told me about a financial issue...I gave her my two cents of an opinion, she took it and it worked for her.
Then interestingly, I find myself in that situation and I am like blank...not like I don't know what to do but I guess I just prefer to deny that fact and wallow in the situation. Like what they say, "it is easier said than done"...more like knowing all the answers to life doesn't guarantee you anything if you don't put them to practice.
Personally, I feel being the one in that situation changes things because you are the one experiencing whatever it is at that moment. At that point you are either not thinking or you don't want to think rationally. Say for instance, you bumped into your man cheating with your friend...on a normal day you would have sworn that you would walk out immediately and not talk to your man again. But when it becomes a reality, you may actually want to break his head or harm her...even though you know it is not worth it.
It is one thing to know something, it is another thing to be able to put them in use when needed and that is where the the problem lies. But then, it keeps repeating itself and you see people make mistakes on things they already know.
When faced with situations I think not acting rashly, making that count in your head...or try pretend you are advising someone on that issue would help a lot. But at the end of the day...I still feel it is easier said when one is not in that situation than being done when faced with the situation.
