i do that with calendula.. i rip the seed heads off and throw them everywhere. (that and alyssm) lol. i guess calendula are my marigolds :-) I have gorgeous dark pink geranium too... i find they are very hardy here in Australia. even in a plastic tub in full sun they seem to survive most seasons. and flower so well.
