Yeah its hard, I love AI and i USE Ai... but not for things that i feel are important... i mean i still WRITE my posts that i do... i use Ai to format sometimes though. No different from spell check in my opinion..
even as you say "teaching the AI to write in a voice" does not always work very well.
i also use it to help me compose an image so i can paint it... so i might put my photos through and AI program and get them to generate a scene for me... then i physically paint it... (not all the time but it happens occiasionally) its a fantastic tool and i feel its helping me...
I even put MY art into GPT and ask it to evaluate it like an art critic and it will tell me to change bits. Just like an art teacher (who would be way better i know)..
i guess being a creative, i see so much AI slop floating around even here where poeple are posting 1 low effort post of an AI "drawing" saying " i did this picture" and posting. and yup.... you bettcha... i ran that image through AI detect and don't ever vote your posts... lol...
One thing i was thinking at the begining is that we are all so scared of tech change... like painters where horrified when photography came out to "replace" portraits (it didn't) however the difference here is that you KNOW what you are looking at is the new technology "the photograph" instead of the oil painting.
these days you simply don't know if what you are looking at is real or AI... even the AI detectors don't always get that right AT ALL...
Im hoping that society will find new ways of making sure that voice is authentic. and people will crave that. a bit like people go to lengths these days for organic food. rather than processed mush... we will see.. its certainly interesting times
