I get so cross about the rise of the Australian suburban sprawl where they are creating suburbs with tiny houses 1meter apart with NO TREES. NO GARDEN. Nothing to stop the heat that a suburb like that creates from creating a mini hot climate zone that affects the plants and critters. horray they have solar power but no trees. Having tree lined streets and yards with trees. helps a little with the microclimate destruction. (better leave the trees to start with..) but keeping SOME makes such a difference.
