Ahhhh haaa.... yes you are just correct it is a touch of the old country and you would be correct. This is our family house. We had to leave and return to Australia because of Covid. This is the next best thing to the English countryside... this is New Zealand countryside.

I am from NZ but we live in Australia. My husband is from Yorkshire and lives in australia.

Covid has somewhat stopped "across the ditch" travel and resulted in much less time spent in the family farm. Normally its a couple of hours flight away. Now... we can't manage it without risk of being in quarantine for weeks.

I normally am there now helping to bring in the harvest but i can't. My poor kids are desperate. right now i'm paying $2+ a punnet for raspberries and blueberries that would be free there. sigh..

my mum LOVES Clelsea flower show. She used to grow roses when i was a kid and i knew all the names of the old rose varieties. I knew all about flowers and growing them. Blood and bone and horse poo were regular things in our house. I love landscaped gardens. when we came to England we toured all the houses and the gardens are just so spectaular.

Australia is such a different place, you are so right. so hot and humid here. They did have a house here in australia until last year when the decided to go back permanently. It been tricky.
