Does he speak of destiny? Or is it yet another antithesis of what destiny is? What I saw and admired merely 2 years back, now falling apart. What is that? A message? Destined to happen? A reminder of how bad it is, or an epiphany that it could have been much worse. Which one? A divine revelation?
A little less than 2 years back, on December 2020, I went to check out the new development project by Akvereli. A massive project from one of the fastest growing developers in Kharkov. I also made a post about it then. For a little over one and a half bitcoin, you could own a brand new apartment a few minutes away from the city center. I was excited to share that you could officially pay for the apartments in bitcoin. Back then, Ukraine was only at the first steps of fully legalizing cryptocurrency.
But look at the current state of the building. Just yesterday, the evil orks shelled the entire area and this project took a massive beating. I attached recent pictures with the pictures from December 2020 for comparison.
Daily there are such incidents happening in Kharkov. Well, it has been going on since the first day of the invasion. Little made to mainstream news. If you remember my first post on the day of the invasion, the explosion I showed was just a few kilometers away from my apartment. Kharkov has been under constant attack since day 1 and not until recently has the city made headlines on mainstream news. Sharing a border with the orks makes it easy for them to continue their barbaric acts on the neighboring Kharkov.
My apartment is also from the same developers. Roughly a 15 minutes drive from this location. Although the orks have been pushed back by a lot, they continue shelling the city. Kharkov is still not safe. Hard to say when it will be. Messages from colleagues and friends break my heart. Can't go out to buy food, living under a constant fear of dying under rubble, can't go out to buy medicines. It is hell. LiveKharkov gives constant updates about the city. It is open to join if you want to keep up with real-time news.
I'd hate for anyone to find any of this "relatable", but it is important to not to feel distant from it. A place from a post you may have enjoyed or read in the recent past is completely different now. The orks can't stand freedom, development, peace, or anything progressive. Kharkov was well on its way to become a decorated city but the orks couldn't take it. There were other apartment buildings being erected until the invasion. The location isn't far from the city center.
Unfortunate? Destined? Evil? How do you describe this? Hard to imagine one of these could have been mine. I could have been living here. My heart goes out to those who lived here and everywhere else that is being shelled. I cannot imagine what it must be like for them.
