Greetings to you all! I'm super excited to share the completed piece of my first patchwork sweater😊😊 This sweater came about because nonsowrites@nonsowrites would not stop bothering me to make him a sweater and I love it!

I started working on this sweater in December 2021 but could finish then. It was time-consuming and I was pressed for time. But guess who has finally completed the sweater. That's right it's me😁😁

I'd love to say the color combination was my idea but it wasn't. Nonso picked the colors and I went with the flow. Working with the colors wasn't hard. I just picked which worked best with the next and rotated it when I needed to switch it up.

So for this sweater. I started with making the two body panels. Which are the front and the back panel. For the panels, I started with making the waistband. I wanted the body piece to be 25inches each, so the band was 3 inches smaller than the body piece. Then I started my first row with single crochet using the same color I used for the waistband.

I combined the colors evenly by counting the number of stitches I had and dividing them by four.
The whole of this project was made using double crochet stitches. I just kept working the body pieces and changing colors where I needed to do so until I had 10 inches left.

Then I started creating the armhole, by decreasing for the next 20 rows which were 3-4 inches in length. Then I continued regular double crochet until it was 4 inches to the end and I created the neck hole, then I was done with the front panel. I did the same thing for the back panel except the neck hole was created with the last 3 inches of length.

Back panel

Finishing the two body panels was the hardest, the sleeves were pretty easy. I used the same technique with less reduction. After creating the two sleeves, all I needed to do was join everything, and boom, my sweater was ready. Technically, Nonso’s sweater but who cares hahaha.
