It’s a pretty dead at the shop today which is a good things as I’m still feeling a bit under the weather with my head crud. Speaking of weather, it’s a cold, windy, and snowy day.
Normally I’d close early on a dreary day like today, but I’m waiting on my UPS driver to drop off this weeks new comic & toy shipment. I’ve been here since 11am and it’s almost 3 pm. I shot him a text asking when he’d be arriving and his reply was “before 4”. Fucker better hurry…
We were initially expecting between 3-5 inches of powdery snow but it started a bit later than expected and it’s been a bit lighter of a fall than initially anticipated…so I’m not sure how much we will end up with on the first snowfall of 2022 and this overall winter season. Currently I’m the only storefront open in my plaza. The carpet shop, tattoo parlor, record store, and bagel shop are all a bit smarter & cozier than I am it seems.
Weirdly enough I did have a couple of randoms walk in. The one dude had 75.00 in GC for the shop and used it up going a few bucks over. He also did the strange thing so many folks do which is whisper to his friends about something he’s looking for, but is too afraid to ask me for. Is it social anxiety that prevents so many adults from asking me simple questions? When that happens, I usually just find the item in question and place it in front of them with a smile. It probably comes off as eavesdropping but I kinda hear everything in this pad.
Luckily the UPS driver just arrived with my shipment. Poor guy has to be out in this shit weather. I definitely do not envy that at all. I think I’m going to bail now and close 2 hours early. Nobody is coming in anyway, I got my shipment, and I still feel like wet Dookie.
I’ll tackle this shipment tomorrow where I’ll hopefully be feeling a bit more energetic and less snotty. So on that note, I’ll peep you mofo’s later. Enjoy your day friends!
