One thing my pups always loved was to go on a walk through the neighborhood. For most of our time together, it was myself and my pack of 4...strolling through the streets and getting stopped by passerby’s. I can’t even begin to tell you how many cars would stop to talk and give a few pets out to Bandit, Bindi, Tano, & Maya. I miss those days greatly and will cherish them forever.
These days, walks are a bit different. With Bandit & Tano no longer with us...it’s me and my girls. Maya is in her prime and could walk the earth for hours but her older sister Bindi can no longer participate on that level with her ailments. We do short walks when we can with her and she still loves every minute of them.
We are about 5 houses down from a nice park that is ripe with enough going on to keep the pups minds busy...only problem is it’s too far a walk round trip for Bindi. That’s where her new ride comes in. I popped over to Walmart and bought her a comfy pull wagon so I can go on longer walks with her and she can still get the fresh air and be stimulated mentally. Then when we reach our destination as in the park for this example, I can pop her out and let her do her thing there before carting her back on the “long” journey back.
So I gave it a whirl and while she seemed a bit apprehensive at first and tried to finagle her ass out of it, she eventually settled and just took in the sights until we reached our destination in the park. That’s when I popped her out and let her go at her own pace. I have to keep maya on the leash as she’s a total asshole and will run into traffic, but with Bindi...I can just leave her to do her thing. She moves so slowly that I don’t have to worry about her. See?
Bindi would lay down for a few minutes and just watch, then get up and make her way over...sniff a bit before plopping down again for a few minute rest. Rinse. Repeat.
I even took Maya on the playground equipment which she loved. Sssshhhhhhh...Don’t tell anybody!!! She ran up the stairs with me and down the slide multiple times. It was a total joy to see...all as her big sissy watched on before plopping down for a few again.
I hope that if and when Bindi gets weaker or even diennconpleyely in the back, that she will enjoy going on these walks in her new whip. This could be the smartest $65 bucks I’ve spent in ages...
Bindi says Thx for looking! Maya does not give a fuck. As I said...she’s kinda an asshole.
