Dungeons & Dragons or as nerd culture everywhere calls it, D&D, can be an awesome way to blow off some steam with friends. Having a good group to chill with is also kinda a big asset. I’ve played with sone Debbie Downers and boy…can that be a chore. Ive tended to have more fun with creative and fun folks like these assholes!!!
From left to right we have my dumb face, my wife @reeseshara, Bill, Christina, and Lenny. For this quest, Lenny was our Dungeon Master who is basically our God and storyteller for the purposes of this quest. This was I believe our 7th meeting for this over the past year and it kinda was wrapped up last night. Lenny said he might continue at sone point, but for all intents and purposes…this story is done.
It was Lenny’s first time being DM and he did a great job. Very story and character driven which was a nice change of pace from our previous campaign which a different DM just had monster battle after battle.
The story ended up with 3 of our 4 heroes biting it against a Solar named Halor. What a fucking asshole that dude was!!! Lenny really hammed it up for his very diverse array of characters including this pompous reject Angel. We simply had no business going up against a creature that powerful, but the story that led us to the end was a worthy one.
Usually when we get together, it’s at our pad or Bill & Christina’s. This time it was their pad which is fun as we have a dedicated game room with a table large enough to house the gazillion miniatures Lenny weaved into our story.
We drank tons of beer…ate way too much food, and just forgot the grind of real life for a few hours as we immersed ourselves into our alter egos for the evening. Before leaving though I decided to snap a few pics of Bill & Christina’s kickass board gane selection. They are big gamers if you can’t tell by the bookshelves of expensive games.
If you’ve never ventured down the path of D&as, I’d recommend to peep it out. I think the most important ingredient is having a group of folks your feel comfortable with. It can be a great way to unwind and blow off some steam.
Enjoy your evening and thanks for popping by, weary travelers!
