Assaf Gavra was my partner in crime in couple of photo-trips abroad. I managed to photograph him at several occasions, but this portrait is my favorite despite the fact that he was photographed from behind.
At that day we were scouting Bialowieza forest in Poland. Assaf carried on shoulder his camera with attached 600mm lens. I myself was also with 500mm lens attached and this lens is something you can steady hand hold only for a very short period of time. I raised my camera knowing I'll be able to hold it for a second and at the very moment I pressed shutter release button, camera with attached lens on shoulder of Assaf swung and the sun reflected from control panel of his camera.
Call it serendipity or coincidence - that day gods of photography were kind to me.
