Last time I shared my work story, it was a "fun" Memorial Day weekend. This story is not as juicy but, it was a first for me. To recap real quick, I'm a manger at a retail store. So I deal with a lot of people.
So about two weeks ago I start my shift after a few days off. I walk the floor, then go on about planning my night. Not even 12 minutes into my shift, I get called to go to the front exit. This only means that there is a shop lifter trying something. I make my way up front and talk to the worker who called me there. Right away she points out this trashy looking couple standing in the front with a closed plastic tote just looking around. This is an instant red flag. So I wait up there with my co-workers, waiting for them to make their move.
They waited till there was a crowd of people at the exit. They attempt to push through with the cart, but we stopped them. Then Player 3 comes out of no where and walks out with some sporting goods items. I follow him out attempting to get him back inside the building, but he walks off while I pull out my phone to call the police. But when I turn around, I see the female half of the trashy couple stand close to the exit. She starts yelling something, then proceeds to spray something out of this pink container. I first thought she sprayed silly string at me and my co-workers. I look around... and i didn't see any silly string lol.. then I notice the strong smell. This crazy bitch tried to pepper spray us. Obviously we do not want to escalate the situation, so they make their escape to their shitty green jeep. I follow with a swarm of angry females screaming at them while I was on the phone with 911, ( yeah I work in the hood lol) they get in their jeep, and they tried to start it.... tried again... and again... it would not turn over. This went on for about 2 minutes. We were all cracking up thinking how shitty their luck was. But they did get lucky. It finally started and they sped off in the parking lot. They almost hit a homeless person in the process of speeding away. In the end, when the lady sprayed the pepper spray, she was a bad shot. She didn't get any of us in the eyes. She did get close though..
The police were rushing to our scene, until some one along the route got assaulted with a flashlight to the head and was having a seizure.Sadly they still haven't been caught :(
So getting pepper sprayed is a new experience that I can check off my list.. lol
