I am terrible at saving. I see something shiny and my savings are gone. I'm like a human magpie. But I never needed to save really. All I really needed to save for was a wedding and a house deposit so when my company told me they would give me a package to go abroad for a few years I jumped at that. I still like the tools that help you save without you really knowing you are saving if you get what I mean. Which is why I love holding crypto in liquidity pools and compound interest. The more inaccessible it is then the better and this is why I give the savings to my wife! She skims some of the top and the rest goes into a vault. So I quite like the steps involved to throw money into liquidity pools because I couldn't be arsed repeating the process.

I find the rounding app in Revolut really useful as it rounds the cost of whatever you buy up to the nearest euro. The difference between the cost is then put into a savings account wallet on Revolut. I tried it for 6 months and I saved over 500 euro without even affecting my day-to-day life. So that coffee I used to get for €3.20 in Costa would be rounded up to €4 and the 80 cent would be put in my savings wallet.

So with the attractive 12% interest rate on HBD I managed to save around 40 HBD for the Chaos legion general sale and some cubfinance. After I spent that that I found it difficult with the whole opportunity cost of @dCity , Splinterlands , BXT and @LeoFinance. It just isn't gonna work unless I come up with a strategy.
I normally try to do a post a day and to have a look at some curating then for a half an hour So I get my main payout and then the dust from the curation. So from now on I'm gonna just use the main payout for whatever I want but save any of the dust payouts that I get from curation in HBD. I've been doing this for a couple of days now and I already have over 1.4 HBD from this alone. It's pretty good actually. Now the thing is that you have to check your payouts a bit more during the day as the curating payouts depend when you are curating so it could be any time really. So that's what I am gonna try now for the next month and I will post how I get on.
So the HBD saved is just all from curation really so you can tell how much you have earned by the HBD saved really which would be a good barometer on how much curation you are actually doing as well. So the more I curate, the more HBD I save so this gives me a motivation the curate.
So that's my strategy. Wish me luck.
