Well I was giving out last week that nobody went out, so I suppose I asked for it. Premier League Gameweek 8 (our third round of Last Man Standing) came along and took out 13 of ye in one weekend. We went from 25 to 12. Thirteen of ye are now sitting in the graveyard with me where it's warm and there's tea on. And the best bit, and I can't believe I'm typing this, is that a big chunk of the damage was done by Tottenham. Spurs went to Stamford Bridge and won 2-0. Hell, I've seen it all now.

📊 Where we're at

  • 35 entered
  • 10 out in round 1 (Gameweek 6)
  • 0 out in round 2 (Gameweek 7)
  • 13 out in round 3 (Gameweek 8)
  • 12 still standing
  • Prize: 200 HIVE + 5,000 MEDALS to the last one left

💀 Who went out and what sank them

Chelsea (lost 2-0 at home to Spurs), 5 gone: blockchainfpl@blockchainfpl, cryptmastern@cryptmastern, r1c4rd0@r1c4rd0, talesfrmthecrypt@talesfrmthecrypt, tengolotodo@tengolotodo
Tales, Tales, Tales a Spurs supporter and all. Knew only too well we have not won at the bridge since the Beatles broke up. But I was still in shock seeing that you had fallen your sword.
Five of ye looked at Chelsea at home to Spurs and said that's a dead cert. I'd have said the same, to be fair, I've been watching Spurs long enough to know better than to trust them. Then they go and turn up for once, on the one week it costs five of ye your place. Sorry lads. Actually no, I'm not sorry at all, that was a great night.

Man United (lost 3-0 at home to Bournemouth), 3 gone: longganisan@longganisan, lumpiadobo@lumpiadobo, shitsignals@shitsignals

3-0. At Old Trafford. To Bournemouth. lumpiadobo@lumpiadobo and shitsignals@shitsignals, ye were the only two brave enough to pick Spurs in round 2 and it worked, then ye went and trusted United. That's on ye. And the cherry on top, lazzvi@lazzvi got Bournemouth as an auto-pick and sailed through. Forgot to pick and still did better than ye.

Brentford (drew 1-1 at Hull), 3 gone: tortangkahoy@tortangkahoy, twicejoy@twicejoy, zusi78@zusi78

Away at Hull. Ye took a punt and Hull said no thanks.

Leeds United (drew 0-0 at Sunderland), 2 gone: daverick@daverick, niallon11@niallon11

niallon11@niallon11, my co-founder, a United man, put his life in the hands of LEEDS and went out on a 0-0 at Sunderland. I'll be dining out on that one for a while. That's the Last Man Standing equivalent of tripping over your own shoelace on the way to the bar.

✅ Still standing (12)

Arsenal (beat Everton 2-0), 4: davideownzall@davideownzall, hatdogsensei@hatdogsensei, jaki01@jaki01, onemanonewrite@onemanonewrite

Liverpool (beat Brighton 2-0), 3: jrmeski@jrmeski, sportsgeek@sportsgeek, valentin86@valentin86

Aston Villa (beat Man City 2-1), 3, all auto-picks: friendlymoose@friendlymoose, palomap3@palomap3, sb-deebrady@sb-deebrady

Bournemouth (won 3-0 at Man United), 1, auto-pick: lazzvi@lazzvi

Newcastle (won 2-0 at Palace), 1: wildlifelover@wildlifelover

Point to note, all 4 auto-picks this week got through. friendlymoose@friendlymoose, palomap3@palomap3, sb-deebrady@sb-deebrady and lazzvi@lazzvi, ye are either geniuses or ye have forgotten ye entered, and I genuinely can't tell which. Fair play either way.

And wildlifelover@wildlifelover went and picked Newcastle, the same team that knocked me out in round 1, and they won. Rubbing it in, that's what that is.

⏭️ Round 4 (Gameweek 9) is open, get your picks in

Pick deadline: Saturday 31 October, 12:30pm Irish time. That's kick-off of the first game, so don't leave it to the last minute. Miss it and the system picks for you, which, to be fair, seems to be working out grand for some people.

Saturday 31 October

  • Chelsea v Man United, 12:30pm
  • Bournemouth v Leeds United, 3pm
  • Brentford v Nottingham Forest, 3pm
  • Coventry v Sunderland, 3pm
  • Hull v Ipswich, 3pm
  • Man City v Brighton, 3pm
  • Tottenham v Crystal Palace, 5:30pm
  • Aston Villa v Fulham, 8pm

Sunday 1 November

  • Liverpool v Arsenal, 4:30pm

Monday 2 November

  • Newcastle v Everton, 8pm

Liverpool v Arsenal on the Sunday, and seven of the 12 survivors were on one of those two teams this week. Remember ye can't pick the same team twice, so a few of ye are going to have to get creative.
