Jatropha Fruit
Jatropha is a long-lived plant.It is a drought resistant small plant.This tree can produce seed till the age of 35 and it can live upto 50 years.Jatropha is a fast growing small tree.It is so strong and needs few or none of maintenance.The average height of this plant is about 3 meters but it sometimes grows high with weight of 8 meters.For sake of average 3 meters height it's harvesting is easy and it can grows anywhere (ordinary soil, sandy, gravely or rocky soil) and adapts easily to different climates.This plant is drought resistant so it can live and withstand with the nature upto 2 years without rainfall.At the age of 6th months it bears several fruits and within 2 years the palnt is equipped with huge fruits.
It's fruit and kernels of the fruit is not poisonous.But the seed of the plant is a proper source of toxic toxalbumin curcin.But this seeds could be used to eat doing roasted.after roasting the toxic is eradicated from the seeds. Its sap is a skin irritant, and ingesting as few as three untreated seeds can be fatal to humans.
