Yeah, I could see that. If everything ALWAYS goes your way, no matter what, it would get REALLY boring. Like, so boring as to almost be depressing. So going to a place where there's someone there with really BAD luck to balance out your good, would be ideal.
With her luck being THAT bad, it's enough to help an entire community of good-luckers have just enough bad luck to ensure that not everything they do succeeds. And, therefore, give them some challenge in their life. Which is good for the spirits. To end up with challenges to actually try to overcome.
