At least he let them live. They're likely in pain, but they're alive. And I'm sure he was kind enough to help clean up the mess, pay for the broken items, then got them to someone to patch them up so they can be put in beds and not be a trip hazard. Because he's likely nice like that.
At least in my head-cannon that's what he'd've done.
