I figured as much, since you put in the story where he was trimming his hair to make it more manageable. Which is sensible given how much he travels. Keeping it a manageable length is just sensible, not just a safety thing, but also sheer convenience. It gets too long, it means a lot more care needed, and sometimes getting in the way. So just easier to keep it trimmed on occasion. And what to do with those trimmings? Give them to someone in need who is kind and has a family to are for!
