I remember helping take care of a clydesdale mare after she'd given birth to her foal. She was groggy and exhausted, and just wanted to rest and then eat. Heh, MY work, to be honest, was just mucking out the stable and putting down fresh hay. They'd've let her birth in pasture, but this was, apparently, her first foal and they were worried about complications. It was a beautiful animal. And she was enormous! But being nuzzled by that large head and being able to pet such a creature, is an experience in and of itself. The foal will be about 3 now.
