Possibly, the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak, was one day someone complained to her about me talking about tarot during my break. I was clocked out for my lunch break, on my own time. I was in the lunchroom shuffling the cards I had with me, tarot cards, to ease my hands from the ache of speed-typing for hours. I was not on the work floor.
Well, a coworker asked me about the cards, I was honest about it, they asked me about my beliefs, I was honest about that, too, and I gave her a tarot reading. Again, this was during my lunch break in the lunchroom, NOT on the work floor. This was my own time. My supervisor had the GALL to give me a written warning about it claiming I had no right to talk about my beliefs during my lunch break. DESPITE the fact people were constantly, on the work floor, asking me about what church I went to because they thought, due to the fact I tend to be kind and I like bringing snacks and bottles of water to my coworkers, that I was catholic / christian. She began leaving pamphlets for various churches at my desk and, well, that was that, I left and made a complaint to HR, heck, I gave them a major earful and told them everything. I SHOULD have printed out the written warning, which is 1 step below termination, and sued the out of them, I'd've won, too. Religious harassment is a BIG no-no. But again... I really was just too nice.
