I was supposed to answer the question 8 of the #creativepostchallenge today, which asks us about friendship. But I decided answering in a different way.
Coincidentally, today I attended a Babyshower of a friend I got to know in my Dutch class. She's also Brazilian and is having her first child in the Netherlands, far from her family and friends.
She had nothing really planned so me and my friends offered to help her organise everything. Decoration, food, tidying, etc.
We met on Friday to shopping the decor items and ingredients for the snacks. In the same day, my friend and I would meet another two other friends for lunch, so we asked if she wouldn't like to come with us.
It was her first time meeting those other friends, after hours of talking, she got along with everyone, enough to invited all of the other girls to her party. :)
Spontaneous, just like that. Nothing really planned. Not that I don't like planning, but sometimes I miss those friendships made in the line to a gig or while waiting the metro.
all you need is...
All of us met her at her house today, bringing food, drinks, gifts. We helped her with everything we could and she was very happy we were there sharing this lovely moment.
Everything went right and I was immensely glad of being part of that day.
What I see living abroad is that we can't afford judging people or classifying friendships. Of course there are people they don't belong in your life, but most of the times you just need to know if they are up to be your buddy :P
I am sure she doesn't care if she just met my friends, because they all contributed to her day, making the effort of putting a smile on her face and gifting her with new memories.
Thankful for this day, great moments can happen everyday.
