It is always a great time when one pick a topic in the MCGi community to review them and write in depth what it is about. For the past few days, I have seen this topic dropped in the community and even though I have been quite busy, I made up my mind it wouldn't passed me by.
Alright enough of talk, first of all we should understand that when we talk about been ignorant of the Bible, we are not talking about them not been aware of the existence of bible, no what we mean is that they should be able to have the knowledge of the bible. What baffles me which I believe not only me is that a lot of people even with the level of their education and exposure, it is still something terrible that only few are aware of the power of the bible and only few working in it. Most especially when you see that the majority are young ones.
It is what our society has really caused. Now back to the main question for today. Why are many educated young people still ignorant of the bible. I learnt from the video about not only the educated that are ignorant of the bible but if we should look at it from another sense, practically everyone's is ignorant at one aspect of the bible. Like I said earlier, it is not only about reading the Bible but when we talk about ignorant of the bible, we mean not living according to the command and laws of the bible.
I learnt one of the ways many people are ignorant of the bible is the aspect of teaching. If we should see the world now, we can see a lot of false teachings coming out from the bible and been applied in the wrong sense and teaching what is not in alignment to what God actually says. I also learnt that from our present world, to be learned of the bible is something that is considered norms among us and Isaiah gives us the right picture below.
Isa.29.11 - And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:
The bible is a gift to the man and for us to properly understand, we need the help of the almighty. This is what many of us lacks and still lack till now. When many of us want to read the Bible, we always let it to come from our own head knowledge making us to be ignorant of a lot of things we should learn of. This is affecting a lot of Christians out there.
I learnt from the video that understanding the bible is not an easy task. Yea understanding the bible is God given gift to men and which we must also make proper use of it to honour who called us. For us to understand the bible, we definitely need the help of the almighty just as brother Eli said in the video which is very true.
