It was Another wonderful time spent in God presence through today mass indoctrination and I must say a lot was learnt which I will be sharing with us for today. Let me start by saying this that most times we misinterprete what God say in the Bible just to do what we want to do or what we feel it is right whereas it is wrong. One of the aspect of God commandments many people didn't get right is idolatry.
Many people always think it is when you make a carved image before you worship idols but that is not true. I learnt today that if you how down to men, you are already worshipping men instead of God. Some people also claim to pray to Mary which should not be so because you are worshipping Mary not God. It is called idolatry and many of us are not aware of this.
Rom.1.25 - Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
I learnt that we should be careful not to Worship the creature much more than the creator. People that pray and knee before an image of Mary, they are worshipping Mary instead of God and so they are committing idolatry and it is abomination. We should Only Worship the creator which is God. If we start worshipping the creatures much more than the creator is called idolatry. I also learnt what idols really mean, idols are images made by men to represent a picture.
Kneeling down before those images and what men created is Idolatry is not what we should do as that is not what God want us to do
1Cor.8.7 - Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.
I learnt today that Christians are forbidden to eat food offered to Idols. Idols are false gods and so they should not be worship. It is a pity now that we have a lot of doctrines who worshipped the false gods like the angels and cherums.
This is wrong. Same thing also in the world of Catholic, I learnt today that it is wrong to worship Mary or pray to Mary the mother of Jesus. That is Idolatry. I understand today that Mary is not God. In fact Mary even worship God. I learnt we should not worship Mary but who Mary worship.
Gal.4.8 - Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
