Chapter 5
In Verse 1-2 was Paul talking to Timothy and giving him basic standards on how he should treat older men and women and not only that but younger ones also and treating them as they are his family.
In Verse 3-16. Paul was giving Timothy the standards on how to treat widows in the church both the old and the young. Giving them the principles to handle them and what should be done to them.
In Verse 17-21. Paul was addressing the need for the church to treat elders well in an appreciative manner of the work they are doing most especially those who preach and teach that they should be given double honour. He was also addressing the need for us not to be in a hurry to accept the accusations laid down against an elder except it is established by two or three witnesses.
In Verse 21-25. Not only that but the bible was trying to point out the need for us to not show favouritism and the need to properly and carefully choose people who will serve as leaders. We should not be in a hurry to appoint someone as church leader. We should always remember that good deeds done in secret will someday come to light.
Chapter 6
In Verse 1-2. Paul was talking about the need to honour our master. He was pointing out the need for us to actually. All slaves should be respectful to their master and this is applied to us being respectful in our work to our bosses.
In Verse 3-10. Paul was pointing to Timothy to be very careful of false Teachings. He was encouraging the church to focus on Teachings that promotes godly life. I learnt also that godliness with contentment is a great gain. He was also warning us that the love of money is the root of evil. We should be very careful how obsessed we are with money because it can drive us into evil.
In Verse 11-21. Paul was concluding and telling Timothy to be very careful of this types of Teachings that might want to make him fall and live an ungodly life but instead fight his good fight of faith to live a life of godly faith. Also he was telling Timothy to warn those who are rich not to be proud or depend on their riches but depend and trust in God. Not only that, he was warning us to be very careful that riches should be used for God and God alone which includes been generous to meet people's need.
