It has a way of cutting across every aspect of what you need as a believer in the church and also if you are a Church leader, I will recommend this bible book to you to read. Today I will start with the 1st Timothy and I will be doing the review chapter by chapter.
The book of 1st Timothy is a letter written to Timothy from Paul. Timothy happens to be one of the spiritual sons that Paul has in the ministry and who helped to spread the gospel all around the world. Some of the Spiritual Sons of Paul are : Timothy, Titus and many more. This was a letter written to Timothy when he was still in the church of Ephesian. So Paul wrote this so that Timothy can correct something's in the church of Ephesians.
The whole Book of 1st Timothy contains
(1). False Teacher's
(2). False Doctrines
(3). And Qualifications for Church Leadership in General.
The book of 1st and Second Timothy is sometimes called the Pastoral Epistles or more like Apostolic Epistles due to the nature of issues addressed in the book chapter by chapters.
In Verse 1-4. This chapter started with Paul writing to Timothy about the need for him to stay in the church of Ephesians and correct False Doctrines and Teachings there. Not only that, Paul was writing to Paul to point to him about false Teachers also who teach false Doctrines.
In Verse 8-11 , Paul was talking to Timothy about the importance of law and the importance of the law coming to the sinners to make them right and not the righteous one. This is just the justification to what Jesus said about him coming not for the righteous but for the unrighteous.
In Verse 12-17. Paul was also expressing his past and how he was deep in the world before Jesus saved him and pointing out that no matter someone past also, he or she can still be saved and mercy can still find that person.
In Verse 18-20. Paul was telling Timothy to protect his faith which means his salvation by maintaining pure conscience which some have not been able to maintain due to some other stuffs. Now people like Hymenaueus and Alexander.
In Verse 1-7. Paul was talking to Timothy about him educating the need for the church to always pray for their leaders in leadership positions so that they can rule and lead just as God wants them to do it. When we pray for people in authority, they rule much better.
In Verse 8-10. This verses was talking about the need for men to have a pure heart in faith and not in anger when they are worshipping God. He was also talking about women been able to dress decently in the church.
Verse 11-15. He was talking about newly convert women in the church not to be quick to be put in church post and not only that but also they can still be able submit to men under them in the Church.
