Steemit Growth
When you look at the growing user base of steemit, you probably wonder if this social network as more room to grow with this rapid pace. Looking at the whole social network content creation market let's me ponder that steemit has not even taken off, yet. This is about to change because of the invention of the blockchain. Steemit is using their own steem blockchain to change social content creation incentivising users to create quality content. This is still the beginning. We are all early adopters.
Content on the blockchain
I believe that all content creation will be recorded in a blockchain at some point in the future. This will apply to text, image and video content. Why would someone not use a blockchain based token if you can get rewarded for your efforts?
Uniqueness of Content
All content will be cut in little peaces and put together again when consuming using a unique hash function. This system makes sure that copying content from other users trying to monetize it is more difficult because it would be detectable in a split of a second.
A few numbers
Just look at some numbers which steemit take away market share or partner with some major websites. The current incentive to post content on reddit or wordpress are very limited. Content creators don't make much money from advertisement since Adblockers are mainstream. Why bother at all creating good content when you are not being rewarded for it?
Markets which steemit can take over first. Reddit is the first potential candidate. Just like when Facebook took all of Myspace users in a very short period. There is a little difference. Blockchain technology will have a much bigger impact than the facebook user adoption.

Just Wordpress and Reddit have a huge market but there are even more areas where steem could be useful.
Other potential areas
Gaming is huge. At the moment most gamers can only benefit from game points in a very rudimentary way. Let all gaming platforms connect to steem and gamers could not imagine how much money they can earn.
Changing the world
We are all part of a complete change of the internet. It will take some time and those times are very exciting.
