Voting power is based on how much steem power your account holds and how much voting you have done recently...
*Steemit approximates your average voting rate with your steem power on daily bases.
*The number of votes per day is a moving average.
*Each vote made a day increases your voting power.
*If you go 24 hours without voting then your average will be reset to a starting point of 20.
*So the more you post and vote, the more voting power...
One other factor...
*If you are a newbie on Steemit cool down on the upvoting atleast 25-50 per day or you will get an error message that says "Voting weight is too small, please accumulate more voting power or steem power"
*You increase the number of times you upvote as you post more and more content.
