Why You Need To Fight For Decentralization
Some of you might not be old enough to remember a time when privacy was part of your freedoms for living in the United states. Those where taken during an executive order in 2001 and never returned. In fact it's only gotten worse and companies now collect more data and information on you than ever before. It was only recently that it started to the the light of day and catch the publics eye.
While some will say anything you put online or in digital format is never secure so who cares I want you to take a step back and realize it does matter and it is your right and is now possible with web3.
I will admit I was one of those people who would say if it's online everyone has it but that's dumb thinking. That isn't the way it should be nor needs to be anymore and it's through Decentralization, privacy and returning powers back into peoples hands and out of governments and companies.
Now that companies and governments have control and power over things and people they are putting up a fight now that its at risk of them losing it. It's why you see them constantly battling and trashing cryptocurrency and the blockchain. It's why you see the SEC trying to overstep their bounds constantly and the last thing we need to do is roll over and take it. Crypto and blockchain along with privacy focused tokens such as Monero are giving people once again to restore those freedoms and powers back into their hands and for some reason there are few that simply don't understand this.
The main focus for many for the term Web3 is decentralization, privacy and security along with it being user centric. I think it's important to take a moment and see how the internet was born and how the history of this should not repeat itself.
The Birth Of The Internet
The internet came from the United states department of defense. It was a network built that would be decentralized as a way of communication. No single node or computer would control it so that a single hack or attack could not bring down the network. Thus birthed decentralization and it worked, it worked VERY well.
Fast forward to today and the internet is now being mainly controlled by a few very wealth companies and organizations. Say something they don't like and get your voice reduced on their network or worse removed for life. It even happened to the president of the united states how wild is that! These companies are manipulated and mind games are played. It's been proven and is fact so you can't even contest that point. We have seen Facebook land themselves on trial with a just discussing show of how clueless old farts in government are about the internet and tech and what's going on.
This massive amount of data harvesting needs to stop and it's the single thing that is making these companies so powerful. They are collecting all of your data and selling it to the highest bidder or in some cases to use it against you. Thus it's time to take the power back and it's something everyone should be getting on board with.
The Investment
This also means there are going to be lots of potential tokens, crypto, investments etc to take part in which will be shaping this future. Thus it's a huge investment opportunity. We have seen some so called "decentralized" applications launch that well... really are not. This comes down to doing your own research as buzz words like Decentralized, web3 etc are going to be tossed around by companies to try and gain traction.
Just like any platform getting in early is key and not every platform is going to do well. Many will fail, some will do ok and others will thrive so it's important to take that into account for any platform you become a part of.
It's your job, our job to now continue forward with privacy, freedoms and building a truly decentralized network moving forward.
One Such Platform
One of these platforms which is working towards this is right here on LEOFinance.io with a project currently in the works code named: "Project Blank"
