The Flippening? The Old Ethereum vs Bitcoin Battle

For many years since Ethereum was launched there became a popular trend called "the flippening" In general what it means is that Ethereum would overtake Bitcoin as the leading cryptocurrency in market cap.

Volume

I feel one of the most overlooked aspects of a crypto is it's volume over a period of time. You could very well have a token work $100,000 but if it's hardly used well those prices simple are not going to move much.

As we can see for the most part their volumes still have a large gap and their market caps an even bigger one.

What I expect to happen when Ethereum goes to proof of stake is within that first month or two we will see prices increase by a half. What I mean by that is if Ethereum was $3,000 it would increase by $1,500 or a total of $4,500 that's simply because I believe 25%+ of the Ethereum in circulation to be locked up causing a fast shrinkage in supply while demand remains the same or increases. The launch of Proof of stake should shoot Ethereum to $4,500 - $6,000 levels and hold somewhere between there. I'm almost 100% sure on this but of course with anything investing it's all speculation till it actully starts to unfold.

I feel that Tether still gets overlooked by many as Tether has a 41 billion dollar daily volume which crushes both Bitcoin and Ethereum together.

Old or Older

Bitcoin is old school in fact it's so old it's the FIRST and that's what gives it a lot of it's value along with major VC and businesses investing into it. However Ethereum has many more real use cases even with it's fees. Ethereum does however need to get its fee issue figured out if it's going to really flip and over take Bitcoin. It's something I don't see happening this year yet again because of it. However the gap between the two should drastically close from half to a quarter or better.

The real question begs does the Flippening even matter? In short no but it does provide a milestone for the transition of Crypto in general. To be honest with you I'm very bearish on Bitcoin and most likely will always be while Ethereum continues to develop, create use cases and so forth. While bitcoin on the other hand does none of that.

The old saying goes a stagnate business is a dead business and for the most part Bitcoin is stagnate.
