I was unsure how to begin my initial post, especially after reading so many entertaining introduction articles from Steemit members. I felt it was very important for me to tell the Steemit community the unique way of how I have arrived here. Before you continue reading, feel free to read the article entitled “Steem is Famous as a Currency! I Was Recognized in Tenerife!” from @kus-knee, (sourced below). It may help put this article in context
My journey into the world of Steem started around October 2017. I had been a supporter of the website since using the platform to read ideas from likeminded individuals. I had actually favorited an article in the past…and now that I have finally arrived on this platform I guess it’s only fair to give a shout out to: @varunsangwan who’s article was the first post I had ever bookmarked
I had never written blogs (or even had an account) on the Steemit site but I have been involved with writing content for 4 years and specifically Crypto associated content for around 2 years for both individuals and organisations.
Now lets fast forward a few months to December 2017 when myself and some friends decided to pick a random European city out of a hat to go for a small weekend away.
Fast forward a day later and we had booked flights to Spain to the city of Tenerife. We arrived at 2am into our hotel and the first thing I did was try to log onto the hotel Wifi to hit publish on a website I had made where I would be publishing my own content, (I didn't have time to publish beforehand as we left in such a rush). The problem was It Was Written in our hotel room “No Wifi available”.
I didn't want to log into my personal accounts from public Wifi networks and my phone had been dropped (this will be detailed in a later post), making it difficult to see the content on the screen. It’s fair to say I had to take a step away from the crypto world; however the sunshine, amazing people and house wines, kept my mind of crypto…for the most part.
This was the first time since 2014 I hadn’t been aware of what was happening with the Crypto Markets so I decided to just let things be and enjoy the rest of the holiday. On our final day me and my friend were walking down the beach (slightly hung over) when I spotted a familiar logo from a mile away. It was 3 vertical blue lines on a T shirt.
I said to my friend (who has no interest in the world of Cryptos), “I recognise that logo” and without thinking I shouted “Steem!”, and to my amazement the pair turned around and the woman (who I later found out to be called @LellaBird69) said – “you recognise this logo?”
I responded with “Yes, its Steem right?”
I remember at that moment having so many questions rushing into my head, they included “where are you both from?”, “How are you associated with Steem”, and “why are you in Spain”. Instead my first question I asked 2 very respected Steemit members was “where did you purchase those T-Shirts from!” – I kick myself every other day for asking this as I am someone who has 0 interest in fashion and is a huge Crypto Enthusiast.
I was able to speak to both @kus-knee and
@lellabird60 for around 10 minutes but I could see my friend was beginning to get restless. Me and
@kus-knee shared similar views about the Crypto Space and he gave me a short insight into Bitshares along with other developments predominately focused around Steemit.
I made the decision following the conversation to not hit publish on my website and start to push content through the Steemit platform in 2018.
However there were 2 things I promised to do on my first ever blog post and that was to post the below picture .
The second was to say Thank you to @kus-knee and
@lellabird60. Since our chance encounter I am keen to contribute to the platform and support other authors by providing feedback on posts and sharing them within my crypto groups. @Kus-knee thank you so much for your warm welcome to this platform and being a great pioneer for Steemit.
After reading this post I have realised it is not so much an introduction to myself but more so a homage to a chance encounter and the journey to how I have got here, which I am satisfied with :)
Maybe that will be a post for another day but for now I’d like to finish this post by saying Happy belated 9th Birthday Bitcoin!

I hope you liked this introductory post, feel free to ask any questions in the comments section. I have some questions of my own to members of the community.
How did you first get introduced to the Steemit Platform?
What were you doing 9 years ago in the Crypto space?
If you met another Steemit Member what would your first question be?
Thanks for reading.
