Welcome to my post about our Day 14, Mass indoctrination. I listened very much attentively to Brother Eli’s preaching and I enjoyed it. He talked about so many topics but out of all, I would like to preach about baptism.
Baptism is a Christian rite to sprinkle and dip someone’s head into the water which means that such person has been cleansed. Baptism means that you have been declared as a follower of Jesus and also ready to act in accordance to the wishes of the Lord.
Where is baptism supposed to happen
I have always though that baptism can happen anywhere and I mostly see people who go to the river to get baptized but Brother Eli helped us find out that it was wrong.
Matthew 28:19 says, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Baptism should be done in the house of the Lord. Baptism is supposed to be done in any where that has the presence of the Lord which is mostly the church. Therefore, Brother Eli said that baptism should be done in the church and not anywhere else.
Also, we should be careful about the way we call the name of our Lord most especially in places that are not holy. Brother Eli talks about Exodus 20:7 which says,
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
He gave so many examples especially the one he talked about two market people where the seller was swearing and lying with the name of God about the price he bought the goods.
We should always make sure that we are mindful with the way we call the name of the Lord.
Brother Eli also got to some other Bible verses:
Ephesians 4:14
Chronicles 7:16
Psalms 139:20
