Keeping promises to children is a very good idea. Unfortunately, a lot of people may eventually not be able to afford or fulfill the promise they have made to their child because of one circumstance or the other. It’s ususlly better to surprise them after you must have saved up some money for it instead of promising them. People especially kids tend to appreciate surprises the more.
If you promise them something, it means they have been expecting it and it’s on their minds so it’s always better to fulfill your promise in your heart by giving them a surprise.
Let’s open our Bible to Proverbs 13:12. It says; Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.
What if the promise eventually does not get fulfilled? It becomes a big problem. When you have a surprise for your father, child or anyone, it will be more glorious and more acceptable than a promise that took so much time for it to get fulfilled.
I know you’re making promises because you really wish to carry out that task but what if things do not go well? Don’t make promises because you do not know what is going to happen tomorrow.
Let’s open the Bible to Proverbs 27:1, the Bible says, boast not thyself of tomorrow: for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
You don’t know tomorrow and that’s why you may fail in your promises. Let’s not make promises but surprises instead.
