At one of my favorite shorebird stops this fall two of our yellow-legged shorebirds were feeding together. At first glance you might think an adult and a baby, but not! The larger bird is a Pectoral Sandpiper Calidris melanotos and the smaller one is a Least Sandpiper Calidris minutilla, the smallest sandpiper in the world.
