That's true. It would definitely help to begin with and then the person can expand it further or even find other resources. Too many options for an absolutely new player might be a negative anyway if it reaches the point of being overwhelming - mind you I'd think if that happened it would be due more the number of characteristics than the number of options.

It certainly has a place. It just wasn't as in depth as I took it to be at first as I was thinking it was the same as D&D but it wasn't.
