The continuous fermentation of thoughts has finally brought together all of my work and ideas into one thing, an “Open Source Lifestyle, OSL” project.
“Open Source Lifestyle” is not a new term and new concept. I use it as the name of the project, because first, the project concept self is consistent with it, and second, it is relative to the lifestyles of the age of agriculture and the age of industry, the “rural lifestyle” and the “urban lifestyle” respectively. The “open source lifestyle” is the best definition of the representative lifestyle in the information age today.
Most people in the age of agriculture lived in rural areas. Later, the industrial revolution completely changed the “rural lifestyle” in all aspects of lifestyle and whole society. Most people moved in cities. However, as the further development of society has entered the era of post-industrialization, we can clearly find many problems and disadvantages brought about by the urban lifestyle, such as the problem of the solidification of social strata, the issue of aging, and so on.
Whether the information age will also bring a complitly new “lifestyle”? A kind of strengths to avoid weaknesses, intelligently integrate all good ideas to form a more ideal and more happy lifestyle?
This kind of future “ideal lifestyle” has already an excellent “model” that can be used for reference. That is the “open source”, a great idea, which brought a “child” Linux, one of the greatest projects of mankind. It is the crystal of all human elite wisdom, regardless of race, language, color, or region.
The theoretical guidance of this project is this “pyramid system” I described in this blog. As shown below, this system will first be implemented at a German base. This can be considered as the output of Chinese culture and core values. Then it will be transfered back as a multicultural, multi-valued system to Chinese bases. It can be thought as an exchange and complementarity between the Eastern and Western cultures. The West needs guidance from Chinese philosophical thoughts, and the East needs diverse cultures and values.
In fact, many preparatory work including development of theory and concrete practice operations, have begun. Here, in this blog, I will regularly report the progress and list in the osl.en tag.
