My heart hurts for all the Ukrainians that are feeling their homes. It's a fu*#ed up a situation we are in right now, and no human being should be forced out of its land. I pray for all the refugees ALL AROUND the world.
The European Union since day 1:
History is full of examples, just open any history book and you will find we are repeating the same story every couple of decades. Only the people and the technology they use are different. I clearly remember the 2015 refugee crisis that hit Europe from the Middle East. More than 1 million people lost their homes and many of them their lives, just trying to cross the border to Europe, in hope of a better life. If I remember correctly only Germany made a step towards helping the refugees and sheltered many people. Maybe because of Germany's dark past, maybe Germans really do care for the refugees, or maybe it's just plain politics. Nevertheless, many European countries, especially countries from the former Soviet Union and the Balkan region were against the so-called Islamization of Europe. Even to this very day many Syrians, Afghans, Iraqis, and many more are still without a home and live without basic human needs. No country will shelter them. A few years later, we find ourselves again in a similar situation, but the only difference now is that a large part of the refugee wave is mainly Christians. Why people think that religion and moral values go hand in hand still remains a mystery to me. People are people. We are all the same, but it seems some are more the same than others until they are not. By the way, the East is no better. Change my mind!
