I dunno. I think TJefferson might have gotten flamboozled. From what I've seen his educational leanings were pretty good, but the schools got the idea that they were principally training future workers and the idea of actual learning was 'set aside'.

Not that I'm arguing that the education system in America is failed. It most certainly is.
