When I was in High School I decided to try switch hitting so spent considerable time on the wrong side of the plate. I had good power from the left side but solid contact was way down. I gave up after two years in practice and one AB in a game. Funny thing though. I think it really helped my view of the strike zone when I batted right handed.

Can you imagine facing Randy Johnson as a left hander? That's the sort of thing that nightmares are made of.
