Two thrusts to the project. Botanical inquiry (all Erv) and hiking to find the damn things. There are a few available to the general public on normal trails, but most of them are up incredibly steep and inhospitable washes. The whole genesis took place when Erv did a peer review on a paper that was wrong on location and distribution. So he started documenting them and convinced a few people to go with/search on their own. Sunday last he was out alone and found a rattle snake that I couldn't identify for sure so he recruited a herpetologist from U of A who decided it was a 'speckled rattlesnake'. Who knew, first time I'd ever even heard of them. So, yeah. They'd be real outdoors posts.
