Well, I don't normally give up on stuff in general, and living fits into that picture. I'd go on.

As I travel about I look at things and places with a 'this would (or wouldn't) be a great place to survive' mentality. It's just sort of my wiring, I guess. Game, water, trees and location all get checked. Some places are way better than others.
