Yep. The good guys become villains in today's world.
My Uncle was attached to NSA (from the Navy) back in the days when it was against the law for him to even say those three letters. He took his oaths really seriously and never told me much (though he did show me where he worked in DC. He drove into the underground parking garage 3 blocks away). One time, when I was staying with him in Maryland a book showed up on my nightstand called 'the Puzzle Palace'. I asked him about it and he just shrugged his shoulders. I asked my aunt and she said "I didn't put it there and I'll guarantee nobody snuck into this house and left it there." Years late he allowed that the book I found was quite accurate.
And the contractors don't have the restrictions. Jeeze. I understand that 'contact tracing' can be a big part of dealing with the CV, but the data collection is handled by contractors. Means I won't participate at any level.
I'll pull the trigger on the coffee cup soon. Retirement of an old friend is often sad, but this cup has really served me well...
