One thing I do is schedule. Hard schedule. Like, every morning I spend my first cup of coffee in the dark. I do a little meditation, and savor that first cup by thinking. Sometimes it's what I need to do today, sometimes it's ideas for ongoing projects. It's probably my least disturbed half hour of the day. Even Sam generally waits until I've turned on the lights to be needy.
I'll allow times for things. Like an hour to get ready for things (check the mail, read the box scores, check the news if there is time) then tear into doing things like responding to posts that I care about. I'll be at this for 2 hours this morning (will probably include breakfast) then on to what ever is next.
For the last few months I have allotted specific times for 'off time'. I've been reading lots which tends to energize me. I make sure there are breaks.
Thanks for a great video and for making me think. I appreciate both.
