I haven't been posting many of my custom figurines, mainly because they really don't seem to garner much interest, there are no cryto discussions, there is really no great tags to use for them and overall, people on Steemit really don't seem that interested in this hobby. Part of the reason I believe is that it is something pretty unique to Steemit. There are a lot of guys doing this hobby but none on Steemit that I am aware of. I have a huge following at Facebook but that is where I get my business and using the features of their pages can invite other people who like a post due to tagging the individual I increase my following. Not so easy on here. But I will still continue to post these, maybe a few people will like them.

Charlie Hatley - Colfax Bulldogs

This is the second figurine of Charlie I have made, I made another fielding pose a couple years ago. His mother-in-law is a high school classmate of mine and an ardent follower of Big Sky Customs on Facebook. This time they wanted a batting pose and a different uniform, so I went with the black jersey.

This figure was a pretty basic repaint although I did have to replace the head with a Caucasian head, as I had used an Alfonso Soriano figure. I chose this figure mainly based on the fact it already has the high socks. I did have to dremel off the shin protector that came on the figure I used.

The hardest thing to make was the decals for the bat, as I didn't have any pictures of the actual bat, but the miracle of the internet allows us to find pictures of darn near anything if you know what to look for. Apparently this was a special bat that was given to Charlie and it meant a lot to him, I didn't know that when I was making the figurine but when he was given it yesterday, he got a bit emotional I heard. That is the great thing about adding the little details to these.

After prep work which included removing the shin guard and replacing the head with one from another player and adding the second ear cover for a high school batting helmet, the figurine is primed, decals made and painting is completed. And the parts are glued back together and added to base.

Charlie was presented the figurine last night by his mother-in-law and he loved it.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my post. I hope you like the work I do.
