The Macaw Parrots are a wonderful colorful long tailed parrots that can be up to 100 cm in length and live approximately 60 years plus the oldest Macaw on record lived to the age of 112 years. A Macaw as a pet will give you all the loving and loyalty you would ever need they can be a great companion they are very affectionate , loving and can be quite rowdy needing lots of attention.
And can Macaws talk ohhh...yes they can mimic human speech and the blue and gold Macaw is even known to come out with phrases more easily then the red colored Macaw and like any other bird if you don't want him or her to fly away and never come back you must keep there wing feathers trimmed if you don't want to loose them.
Now let's scale this down a bit to the Budgerigar Parrot these birds also have a long tail but are much smaller in scale to a Macaw the Budgerigar also makes a great pet and can mimic human speech and comes out with some phrases like the Macaw birds.
They come in various pretty colors like blue , green and yellow with black, scalloped markings on the nape, back, and wings but the unfortunate part about these beautiful Budgies which is their nickname they only have a lifespan of 5-10 years.
Budgies are very social little creature and love to spend time with there owners they are very intelligent and playful and by simply spending some time with your Budgie out of the cage lets him or her known that you love them like my mates one here never lets go always hanging around and his a funny intelligent little bugger with a few words under his wings.
