Anyone watching finance knows it has been a crazy year in the market. I have had one of my best years though mostly because I bought the dip and sold. I manage 2 accounts and one is a retirement, and one is a personal margin. I took over the retirement from Wells Fargo, who in a 5 year period of the market doubling returned to my wife -1.3 percent. To say I was disappointed would be a understatement. I took it over in march and am currently up 41 percent year to date. I am all in cash and waiting for something that catches my eye. My other account started with 10000 and now is at 13013. So a nice 30 percent. My new goal for 2021 is only 2 to 5 %......... a week. I am going to try and do this in my margin account, and will start out with only 4000 in trades. If you apply the rule of 72 in which you take your compounding rate of return and divide 72 by it, it tells you how long till your money doubles. So lets say we have average of 3 percent should take be 24 weeks to double. So I could get 2 doubles in a year and that would bring me to about 16k by 2022. Well I got my plan, we will update on the trades later.
