I have been trading for 13 years now, and I have seen things this week that you don't really see every. For one, hedge funds going under in a matter of days, from one position. Terrible money management from supposed professionals, who have just turned this into a game.
Second, stocks going against you hard, but your options doubling in value. This happened to me in SLV, I was long puts expecting it to go down, but it rallied 3 percent. Normally I would have been out all my money, but this was not the case. Some options doubled, and other were up 50%. I chose to get out at that point, because I knew once they woke up it would be a different story. My options would be gone, and I would be out the money. I probably won't stay out of the market, I will definitely decrease my sizes of trades though. I feel that is how I will not drive myself crazy.
