One of the most frustrating things about trading is the the day trade rule. In certain platforms that I have such as TD Ameritrade, they have a 3 day trade rule for every 5 business days. For all accounts under 25k that are not set up on cash settlement. Well with the holidays, and me being home I have burned through those day trades pretty quick. I made one trade for the new year, and it was in TSLA. Minus commissions it was a 47.50 winner, so a one percent profit. Not bad for 1 hour, but I also don't want to get into TSLA with no day trades and not be able to sell.

The next trade I am looking at is in SPY, we are currently stuck at the 161.8 extension and am curious to see what happens there. Looks like we might break the 10 day moving average, and that would probably set up for a put calendar. I am also looking to get back short TSLA just when I have a day trade available.

Here is a current daily chart of the SPY
