I don't want to be too hard on Ned, but I think him leaving is the best thing for steem. Sometimes you just need a fresh start, and outside of this deal, Steemit inc has yet to complete anything. So new leadership, and some resources hopefully will be our ticked to greatness, heck I would just settle for mediocrity at this point. I am excited that they are not going to do a coin swap, and are allowing the continuation of SMT's, but I feel we will definitely have to bring back the masses. We will also have to address the rogue whales out there, who down vote anyone they think is spam. So we still got some work ahead for us.
