This is my first post for this new year. winter so far has been very lite and we have been absolutely blessed with copious amounts of rain that was so much needed. since it is cloudy most of the time, frosts are kept in bay which benefits immensely anything that grows.
a very late harvest of sweet potatoes that are now grown in large pots to avoid being eaten by rodents.
winter is time to prune olive trees. this provides endless supply of firewood. the wheelbarrow in the photo contains 1 tree worth of pruning, out of 105 trees. you do the maths.
hiding among all these broad beans plants is a young tree that benefits from the extra Nitrogen provided. 
I finally get to eat some Physalis a plant that suffer a lot from frost. most years the fruits do not mature before the frosts kick in. 
I am now experimenting with Electroculture. this is my first home made antena that is planted smack in the middle of my main veggie garden and I am waiting to see results.

at this photo I want to show my main Veggie garden where I "shop" for my Green leafy vegetables. this is in response to the #plantpoweronhive post. this patch is made up mainly of different types of Kales and cabbages that are very frost hardy and produce endless food all year round. kales and cabbages are regarded super food and are an important component in a traditional Portuguese diet.
Not all my leafy greens are green.
